Third & City Sound is a family owned and operated sound reinforcement
company based in Philadelphia, PA. Husband and wife, Luther and
Shelley Dowdell and their son, Lucien, formed the company in 2001.
Third & City Sound began as mobile disc jockeys, but the Dowdells soon
realized that the real need was for front of the house sound (FOH) for
events and venues that did not require massive systems. They were
responding to the need for a sound company in the Delaware Valley that
emphasized clarity of sound, knowledgeable technicians and highest
quality service to the customer.
The Dowdells quickly established the
standard for quality sound in outdoor locations. Third & City provides
FOH for live recordings, concerts, festivals, galas and weddings. It
has become the sound company of choice for events covering 100 to 2500
people. Through these events, they have mixed some of the most
prominent musicians appearing in the area. The Dowdells have branched
into sound contracting for events, venue sound reinforcement
consulting and backline supply.
